Three Trees is a nut milk company based in San Mateo, CA that makes fresh nut milks using a clean list of ingredients that you would find in your kitchen pantry.
I was never a nut milk fan because I find that most products available today are mostly water and flavorless, but these nut milks have changed my mind completely. I didn't think it was possible for nut milk to be creamy and rich until a few weeks ago when Three Trees reached out to me asking if I would be interested in trying a few bottles out. I am a huge fan of whole milk and believe that it can never be replaced by any nut milk. However, I still thought these nut milk selections were pretty outstanding and I often find myself craving for the pistachio and almond milk bottles.
There's a unique taste and fragrance that I absolutely loved in each bottle. Here's a quick review for each bottle that I tried.
The pistachio milk is light green in color and has a wonderful fragrance of fresh pistachios. The taste is very unique; it's thick, creamy, and rich. You can taste the wonderful pistachio flavor and the grainy-like texture. I experimented with mixing almond vanilla milk into the pistachio milk; it turned out great and made for a smoother taste, numbing down the graininess.
The fragrance of the almond vanilla milk was crisp and refreshing. This option best resembles whole milk. They use madagascar vanilla and a touch of organic cane sugar to sweeten it up. The sweetness isn't noticeable unless you compare it directly to the unsweetened version.
Almond Chai Spice
The almond chai spice has the same almond milk base but contains ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, allspice, and sea salt. There's no actual chai tea but the spices are well represented. While the milk is smooth, the spices do linger in your mouth, especially at the bottom, so be sure to shake it up.
Almond Cold Brew Coffee
Three Trees uses only fair trade coffee beans in this cold-brewed coffee almond milk. I'm not a coffee drinker but the taste was still delightful.
