It was my first time attending La Cocina's San Francisco Street Food Festival. It's been running for the past four years; I've avoided attending in the past because I heard about the long lines and large crowds, which I can't stand. I decided to go this year because I've always been curious about the event and they had a good line-up of restaurants & vendors that I wanted to try. Patrick was out of town with family, so I was a free woman to go out & eat to my hearts desire.
To my surprise, it wasn't too uncomfortably crowded. The vibe was fun; great music all around and some street performers. I spent $36 on food and drinks - in the end, I was stuffed! I ordered about 7 items and the best thing I had was State Bird Provisions' garlic bread and burrata (which is the only thing I loved when I dined at SBP). Everything else I ate just didn't stand out and a lot of the items were too salty/unbalanced in flavors.
Overall, I had a nice time and I'm glad I went. I really love the mission of the event and what it stands for. Here are some photos of the festival and my thoughts on the food I tried:
